ask at a place that sells the juice and the cider fresh or call a grove for self picking but wouldnt the best pie apples be the sweeter type the pectin would be cut by the acidic types like grannys or winesaps right but ask a green grocer also the pectin is sold in stores along with the canning jars so any one apple can become preserves or piefilling or so on
