Do we know at what point of death, our soul departs our body and does it leave of its own accord or is it guided by someone or something from the other side?

According to Paul, "Therefore, we are always confident, and we know that as long as we are at home in this body we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, then, and would prefer to be away from this body and to live with the Lord." (II Corinthians 5:6-8)

So it would seem that when we die, we go to be with the Lord.

Another Scripture that indicates this is "When the lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slaughtered because of the word of God and the testimony they had given. They cried out in a loud voice, "Holy and true Sovereign, how long will it be before you judge and take revenge on those living on the earth who shed our blood?" Each of them was given a white robe. They were told to rest a little longer until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers was completed, who would be killed as they had been killed." (Revelation 6:9-11)

The unrighteous dead are also away from their bodies. As Jesus said this: "In Hades, where he was in constant torture, he looked up and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus by his side." (Luke 16:23)

No "suspension" .... when we die, traditionally our bodies are buried in a cemetery (meaning: dormitory) waiting for the Resurrection. The body is asleep.

But WE are absent from our bodies, and PRESENT with the Lord. No "purgatory" or any other "preparing ourselves for the next life". That's the purpose of this life.

B.I.B.L.E. -- Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth

But do we heed those instructions?

It is appointed unto humans ONCE to die and then the judgement.

At what point does the soul depart the body? Speculation.
Does it leave of its own accord? It seems some can be so strong-willed that they can wait a while ... maybe wait until an absent family member arrives ... or some other thing.

It seems that the body, at some point, finds "life" just too difficult, and so the "soul or spirit or inner being" departs.

Read the account of the rich man and Lazarus (no, not the Lazarus the brother of Martha and Mary). Lazarus was escorted by angels; the rich man just found himself in torments.

When we leave the body, we are no longer bound by the restraints of time--which is a physical property. When we enter the eternal, do not be surprised to find that the rest of earth's history has already passed and in the next moment all are appearing before the judgment seat.

The only thing that is really important, is to know with 100% assurance, that you are prepared for that moment.

To know the answer w should , first , know what is Destiny and what is a thought. Thought is not outside of us Destiny is . In fact we do not know where it is and how it acts. For this unknown entity we have simply given a name , Destiny. That is all. If it was possible at all for us to initiate change in our destiny we could consider changing our thoughts accordingly . We can compulsorily think of something else and delve on that thought . If anything , the combined action of our mind , thought, body results in a certain action. Such an action takes us towards our intended goal. If we drift away from that intended goal and land up somewhere we tend to blame this on some thing . That something is Destiny .

Eccl. 9:5 says the living are conscience that they will die but the dead are conscience of nothing at all.
John 5:28 Do not marvel at this because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tumbs will hear his voice and come out. those who did good things to a resurretion of life and those who did bad things to a resurrection of judgement.
that is called judgement day. Until after the end of the world you will rest in the grave and then when judment days comes be judged.

According to Dr. David Hawkins, When we die our soul leaves our body but it takes about 3 days for it to get used of not being in the body. Wait a few day before burial of cremation.

I do not believe so. The Catholic Church teaches that there is a suspension, they call it purgatory. There are many christian religions and different believes, do some research and you will find the answer that applies to you personally. Read the New Testament.

The thief on the cross next to Jesus was promised paradise that very day. The believer that dies goes to where Jesus is. Check the verse below.

As an added bonus, this verse also proves that Jesus didn't go to hell after death.

We are never alone in death.
When near death we see loved ones or friends who have come to help us on the journey.
Usually there is the brilliant white light and we will feel so elated we would never choose to return to earth.
This is not actually death....but Life.
