I have just recently got these nasty buggers from somewhere, and I have tryed MANY over the counter products. All of them seem to be failing. I have looked numerous times at different online products, home remidies, and expencive pesticides. I have long, thick hair.. And have considered shaving my head! I am very worn out and need answers. Please, if you have ANY remidies or ideas I am open for anything. Thank You.

try putting baby oil in ur hair and go through with a comb that comes with an over the counter product. start by sectioning ur hair in 4 sections. top, sides and the bottom. go through with the comb doing each section separately. then try an over the counter product on ur hair. be sure to clean combs brushes, blankets clothes hair accessories pillow cases so u don't keep recatching headlice.

Quell is a prescription shampoo you can get at the pharmacy. Its the strongest you can buy. However just getting it out of your hair is not enough. You have to get it out of your hair brushes and combs, clothes, the couch, the pillows, the bed and bedding, the carpet, the headrest in the car. There are sprays you can buy in the same section as the shampoos that you can use. It may take several cans to do your house but its the best way. Wash everything in the way of clothing and dry in the dryer on high. Spray the things you cannot wash. Spray brushes. Things you can not boil, wash or spray need to be sealed in a plastic bag for an extended period of time to get rid of lice.

It may be more than just the product you
are useing on your hair. If you have cleaned
all the carpets,chairs,clothing,bedding and
whatever you have come in contact with you
might check with a county nurse. Our county
nurse was quite hepful when we had
occasional outbreaks at school.

my daughter's school sent a note home, saying alot of children got it, and the only way to get rid of them is pour (olive) oil all over her head, and put a plastic bag and soak it for an hour. It will cause them to not be able to breath, they will all die, then you'll have to pick out the eggs, They will feel like hard balls, there hard to see though, but you'll feel them.

Kerosene. Apply on hair.....and then light it up. bwahaha. Kidding. But really kerosene works without the lighting part of course. But be careful and you must rinse it thoroughly. However, I don't know if there are any health hazards to it aside from you hair accidentally getting caught on fire. It's a sure "fire" remedy to instantly killing headlice.

Go to your local pharmacy and buy one of the lice shampoos. They work well, but then you have to delouse your house. You have to clean everything.
