"Br" is for breakfast and the "unch" is for lunch.

In our area, a restaurant brunch consists of food that includes things that would satisfy a breakfast or lunch/dinner craving or both.

In a smaller or home setting or a shower brunch of some kind....sometimes it is a meal that is eaten to combine breakfast and lunch or/and the meal would consists for example of fruits/or juices, eggs, pancakes, ham, bacon, or sausage, rolls, toast, coffee cakes, potatoes, waffles, etc., possibly a dessert.

Usually very yummy menu with a delicious assortment to choose from, but you need to be careful not to eat too much.

It's like a breakfast/lunch combo and can include foods that one would find at breakfast or lunch.

So a good food for a brunch would be eggs/ham/fruit/some kind of bread.

Often champagne and strawberries will be served if liquor is being served. Or bloody marys.

Brunch is something that is eaten mid- to late morning and takes the place of breakfast and lunch.

It usually consists of a wider range of heartier foods than you would typically eat at breakfast, but does include breakfast foods.
