We always make spiced hot cider in the crockpot, we fill up the crockpot with cider, then add a 1/2 pint of mulling spices and a couple cinnamon sticks and let it get hot for a couple hours then ladle out a mug full of it, with a freshly baked Pumpkin Bundt Cake with Cream Cheese frosting, when we slice a piece and lay it on its side on the plate, then we sprinkle a tablespoon of rum over it, MMMMM God is it good ! Really takes the nip out of that cold windy day.

What a great question! Fall is my favorite time for food...it's just so comforting! My favorite has to be Pumpkin Swirl Cheescake. Here's the recipe if you want to try it :)
Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake
25 NABISCO Ginger Snaps, finely crushed (about 1-1/2 cups)
1/2 cup finely chopped PLANTERS Pecans
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, melted
4 pkg. (8 oz. each) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1 cup sugar, divided
1 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
1 cup canned pumpkin
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
Dash ground cloves
PREHEAT oven to 325°F. Mix ginger snap crumbs, pecans and butter; press firmly onto bottom and 1 inch up side of 9-inch springform pan.
BEAT cream cheese, 3/4 cup of the sugar and the vanilla with electric mixer until well blended. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition just until blended. Remove 1-1/2 cups of the batter; place in small bowl. Stir remaining 1/4 cup sugar, the pumpkin and spices into remaining batter. Spoon half of the pumpkin batter into crust; top with spoonfuls of half of the reserved plain batter. Repeat layers. Cut through batters with knife several times for marble effect.
BAKE 55 min. or until center is almost set. Cool completely. Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight. Cut into 16 slices. Store leftover cheesecake in refrigerator.

mine is the pumpkin pie with lots of cool whip or ice cream on top. As a kid I used to like the Indian apples. And, persimmon pie is great too.

For me, persimmon cookies are what I wait for. That and this fabulous squash casserole I make every Thanksgiving. If you want to see the recipes, go to http://recipes.leiderman.com -- they're up there in vegan versions ;o)
For my mom, it's the pumpkin truffles Godiva puts out each year. She loves those things, and I always send her a little 5-pack of them in October. :-)
