i am looking to get a miniature or toy sized puppy. what are some good breeds that are cute, small and not to expensive?

Purebred miniature dogs tend to be expensive, but if you get a cross, like a terripoo they are very cute and not as pricey. I have a yorkiepoo (yorkie, toy poodle cross) and he is very small and sooo adorable!! Other examples of small dogs are, miniature shelties, miniature australian shepherds, toy poodles, yorkie terriers, lhasa apsos, teacup chihauhaus, miniature pinschers, and mini dachsunds. And just so you know, many of these mini dogs are not actual breeds, they are just runts bred with other runts to stay small, so don't get duped into paying a high price for a dog that isn't even really a purebred.

mini dachshunds, I had one for 10 years and she was great. You don't have to worry about the back problems that you would with a standard, and they are the most loyal dogs ever. If we had enough time for a dog, we would get one in a heart beat. we used to breed the one we had, and that can be fun too. It is easier to care for a litter of small pups (2-5) then it is for a large pup litters.

No - yet till the breed is presented in that length (check out the AKC breed description) then its outdoor breeder canines (runts) being bred for funds in basic terms and that they incorporate important wellness/habit issues. A precise experienced canines of any sort isn't propose - its the guy that makes the canines propose or its by way of inbreeding and behaviour subject canines being bred on objective.

I have a yorshire terrier and I LOVE HIM! Yorkies are very smart and sooo sweet! THe price varies where you live, but you might can find one around $400 or $500. Good luck!

Pomeranian. I have a 2 year old black and white one from Texas. I think she was about 250. they are great house dogs. mines is only 7 pounds. look around for this dog.

Maltese. They are small (average 6-8 lbs.) all white long haired dogs (they barley shed no more than you.) They have great personalities. And they are very smart. I have one. Go to www.malteseonly.com

Yorkies are great. Chihuahuas are so high strung it isn't funny.
