Muskies like bigger bait, so forego your 4 inch shiners. A sucker is basically a small carp that will grow to about 12-14 inches. Look up suckers on the net so you know what you are looking for. You can either drift fish or use a bobber keeping the suckers suspended just above the weed tops.

Best way is to float a live sucker minner about 8 inches long just outside a weed line before dark. hang on. sometimes you can but the suckers at bait and tackle stores.

They sell the large suckers in sporting stores and some gas stations. Just remember where the fish like to hang out and add weight accordingly. G-Luck.

Ive had best luck catching panfish (like you said) and just casting them. In small ponds where u can see sunfish everywhere, it means 2 things, the pannies are hiding from big fish and easy panfish to catch.
