There is no fee for the organ. Federal law prohibits it. There is no fee to the donor, the donor removal company that handles the removal does not charge the donor. The recipient donor will have normal medical charges form the hospital, physicians, and labs. The blood bank and donor company will charge the recipient charges for processing the organ. Organs have to be type matched to the recipient, just as blood products are.

at my hospital, when a patient becomes a donor, their care becomes the responsibility of the organization that harvests the organs. The charges incurred before death are still the patient's, but anything done to maintain the donor organs after death is billed to the harvest organization.

No fee for the donor's family. The expenses are paid for by the insurance of the person receiving the organs.

I always thought the removal of the organs was a free thing because it's an act of charity from a person. I would imagine that organ recepiants pay for having the organs transplanted into them.

i'm no longer an organ donor notwithstanding this is something I somewhat have idea about doing. I type of desire i replaced into and probably sometime i am going to somewhat verify in. i imagine it is a common reaction notwithstanding to be a touch jealous or selfish of someone it truly is on the point of you it truly is a donor yet i might want to sense free too. they are giving life to someone that does no longer regularly get yet another probability with one.
