I guess it's hard to talk honestly and openly about something that you strongly believe. To do so is to be vulnerable, and most people wouldn't want that. Gee, wars have been fought over religion, you know? It's just a divisive thing, unfortunately. I am a Christian, and I try not to attack because I know before I was a Christian, I felt very judged by them. But the thing is, Christ is a controversial figure and what he said made a lot of people mad (still does today), but he did command his followers to love their neighbor as themselves. I try not to judge other people, but I am not perfect (I still sin) and I know I do sometimes. That's just part of being human, I guess.

Hun, not all people who claim to be Christian are truly Christan to begin with, Jesus said you will recognize them by their love for one another. Has it ever dawned on anyone that someone might hate Christianity so much that they would pose as a Christian ans spout off at people to draw them to hate Christians as well? Not saying this happens always, but you need to remember that the fruit of the spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Goodness, Kindness, Gentleness, Faithfulness ,and Self Control. It might also help you to know that just because someone accepts Christ, that does not mean that we become perfect overnight, chances are like with myself I have so much more room to grow, but I am not the same person I was 10 years ago.

Understand first that there are quite a few people on this forum that pretend to be Christian in order to draw you in to believing their position, then say insulting things in order to bring disrepute. It is very easy to do. You just need to ignore these base people. Christ has commanded the true Christian to not be defensive, but be ready to give a reason for the Hope that is within them. They are also not to throw their pearls before swine, so they have no business answering the goading questions as well.
I do my best to answer honest, searching questions. But I was getting tired of explaining how the base people were hijacking the questions with their abominable behavior. And personally, I was getting tired of seeing these responses. So basically, I have quit YA and only come in now and then.
If you have an honest question, you can ask me if you like.

I'm a christian. I apologize for my brother and sister who are in Christ that respond in a form that is not pleasing to God. However, I too, have read answers from which I assume them be christian and non-christians and they were offensive. I don't take it personal, I read the 1st sentence, if its not of my intrest I scroll down, it's that simple. There's nothing else that can be done to fix it. Whatever anyones belief may be we all need work in areas in our life.

Because a lot of them on this board (not all of them) are hateful people. I myself have asked a few SINCERE questions regarding Christianity, for the Christians to answer. 95% of the answers were nasty and rude--all from Christians.

I'm sorry you feel that all people of faith are that way. I consider myself a devout person, and I try to be as kind and nonjudgmental as I can. Nobody's perfect, but hopefully we're all getting better.

A lot of former Christians have experienced abuse, verbal, mental and sexual by priests or born again scam artists. Some questions hit a nerve and they explode or attack as you put it. It seems like the Christians LOVE to judge us pagans and atheists. So they are judged in turn. Thou who judges should be judged.

nothing mate.
Christians feel so insecure about their beleifs so you'll hardly get any answer other than "Jesus loves you!!!!!" or "you're going to hell!!!"
*sigh* how do you expect to have a decent conversation?
Don't get me wrong. I respect people of all faiths. Just can't tolerate fools and there are a lot of them on Yahoo! Answers.

If they have the love of God, and cares enough to answer the question the way Christ would, and not how people feel.
