I used to have one that had vanilla along with the marshallows, butter and rice krispies. I don't remember how much vanilla? Do you know?

I haven't seen it - but 1-2 teaspoons should do the trick.

Rice Krispies Bars

1/4 cup margarine

4 cups miniature marshmallows

1/2 tsp vanilla

5 cups Rice Krispies cereal

Heat margarine and marshmallows in a saucepan until thick and syrupy. Add vanilla.

Pour over cereal. Mix well.

Press mixture into a greased pan.

When cool, cut into bars.

Look on the box of the rice krispies. It is usually there.

If in doubt, the amount of vanilla is usually 1 teaspoon or 1/2 teaspoon

Rice Krispie Marshmallow Treats

1/4 cup butter or margarine (1/2 stick)
6 - 10 ozs. regular marshmallows (about 40) or 4 cups miniature marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies
1. Melt butter in 3-quart saucepan. Add marshmallows and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until marshmallows are melted and mixture is syrupy. Remove from heat.

2. Add Rice Krispies and stir until well coated.

3. Press warm mixture evenly and firmly into buttered 13 X 9-inch pan. Cut into squares when cool.

Yeild: 24 (2-inch)squares

Variation: Choco-Scotch Bars - - Follow directions for making Marshmallow treats above except, when melted marshmallow mixture is removes from heat, stir in 1/4 cup peanut butter before adding Rice Krispies. After spreading Rice Krispies- Marshmellow mixture in pan, melt together in a small heavy saucepan, over low heat, 1 cup (6-oz. pkg.) butterscotch morsels; stirring until well blended. Remove from heat: spread evenly over Rice Krispies-marshmallow mixture in pan. Cool until firm. Cut into bars.

Yeild: 48 (2 X 1-inch) bars

Momo: I suggest 1tsp of Vanila exstract add marshmellows plus
1 cup of melted butter or < http://wwwcd kitchen.com > for better

the recipe I'm seeing doesn't include vanilla.
