people keep calling me metro. Does it have anything to do with dressing well? If so, what is wrong with guys dressing well?

I love METRO men!! It means you have too good of style to be straight! lol...
It's just one of the 1st things people notice about most gay men..they dress well, know fashion, get highlights, etc...
Metro is when you have all of these traits..but don't enjoy the same sex..u still love the ladies! woo hoo! lol.
Don't take offense. Most people who use the term in a negative way are just jealous they aren't as in touch with their femanine side! But give me a man who likes to shop..look just as good as I do, and not be gay! I feel like it's the jackpot for me!

There's nothing wrong with it. Are people using it in a derogatory way when they say it to you?
My husband is that way and so is his brother. They were just raised that way. However, if you care about your appearance to the point that people think you are being vain then maybe that's why they might be saying it negatively.
I mean there is "metro" and then there is "guido".
The example I like to use of guido would be Victoria Gotti's boys.
Yuck! They are WAY overboard with the hair and the clothes and all the "product" they use.
That's BEYOND "metro"!

Metrosexual technically means someone who has mannerisms of the opposite sex but does not identify as one. The term however is not often used in that way currently. Instead it is used to describe a (usually straight) man who puts much more time and effort into his appearance then is normal for men. He styles his hair, uses an exfoliating body wash, pays a lot of attention to the clothes he wears. The term usually is associated with a "Trendy" or "Preppy" style. "Goth Guys" as well as many body builders are also often metrosexual but they are not usually the type that comes to mind hen people mention metrosexuality. Also the term is independent of sexual preference. Some people might get confused since metrosexuality is often considered "acting gay". It does more often describe straight men though since it's considered somewhat normal behavior for gay men and therefor simply being gay can carry a presumed notion of metrosexuality. Some heterosexuals act quite masculine aside from their bigger focus on their on appearance.

metro is when your straight but you dress very well, and you care about your looks.....you take good care of yourself and your things (clothes, shoes, hair, ect.)
