Nothing good they kept the people in fear all there lives of hell, demons and devils. People were afraid to express one original idea. The leaders kept total control over their lives.
Humanity almost died out. Many people simply didn't want to live.

The best thing that can be said about the "Dark Ages" is that they were anything but dark. They were a period of great beginnings.

Because it was so dark spiritually, it provided an opportunity for the Light to shine in the darkness and that is what ended the darkness.... Spiritual leaders who overcame fear, ignorance and superstition and the power of the church to preach and teach the Word of God at the risk of loosing their lives.

They were DARK.
Life, freedom of individual expression, thought and creativity werw heavily suppressed.
When elements of a society do this life gets pretty bleak for the majority.
