First he had to let some well placed friends get some priceless antiquity, and don't you recall how well the oil wells were guarded, and for what they still are not producing at fraction of capacity what a #$% moron he is.

Because there are no more troops to be sent out.
First thing, before anyone tells me that I am such an ignorant dolt because I just wrote that first line, please read further down first.
Second, I am a Canadian soldier. I have an outsider's view of the Americna military situation as it stands, but it's not because I am serving in another military that I am oblivious to the way things go in other countries.
I know, I know, there are a lot more soldiers in the US forces than are currently deployed in Iraq, but they are only part of the American worldwide commitment. But to add to this, there is the fact that soldiers need rest. You cannot expect troops to function efficiently in high-intensity operations for long durations. A one-year deployment in Iraq is putting a lot of strain on every soldier out there, and they need to head on home to relax, recuperate and re-train. Not to mention seeing their families, too. That of itself takes pretty much a year. Then, throw in the specific training before deploying. That's another year right there. It can probably be cut down a bit, but it definitely shouldn't, and then they're back out there.
Make no mistake, this is a grueling operational tempo, and if you make it any harder, there won't be a military left in the end.

This is not our presidents decision. I'm sure if Bush had it totally his way.. there would be 500.000 more US troops on there way.. If not already there. Doing some serious "Cleaning Up"
Your right.. Our troops are short handed..

The troops are doing a good job, this is mediocre compared to any other war we have been in. We have trained hundreds of thousands of iraqi soldiers who are serving side by side with our forces.

Welcome to the pc age. I'm sure he would loved to have flattened a couple of trouble spots..but of course he would have been criticized for doing so.
Look what happened during the Israeli war recently....just so they would not look like the bad guy...they warned cities before bombing......of course any sane person knows Hezbolla made the civilians stay...or else.

i think of the main clever ingredient to do is awaken and understand that affirming conflict on each little thing in sight can not positioned an end to terrorism. in actuality, i do no longer see information on the thank you to truly declare conflict on terrorism. that is like the "conflict on drugs." It would not make sense. it quite is why that is finally futile. in actuality, invading international places continually and pissing off something of the worldwide can basically carry greater terrorist threats. yet to respond to your question- we are unlikely to win. and it would not quite matter huge type. that is all approximately conserving the conflict device going. And as Orwell pronounced, you need to shop the human beings continually concentrated on outdoors threats in case you want to maintain them complacent and distracted from the threats from interior of.
