Probably for the same reason people get "defensive" when you talk about weight.

As women, we all usually have something that we are insecure about. For some of your friends, it's their height or shortness. If you are a real friend, please don't keep rubbing it in or bringing it up. It may be stupid to YOU, but that's just the point: They are not You and You are not them. They have probably disliked people making comments on their height a long time before you came along. They may even remember being teased all the time while growing up. If they are very sensitive about it, just respect their feelings and leave that issue alone. I have a friend who is fatter than I am, and she don't like people calling her fat or talking about her weight. Out of deep understanding and much respect for her, I never call her fat and I don't talk about her weight. IF you keep bringing up things or rubbing things in, it will become more hurtful and even annoying, and you may not have those friends anymore.

Maybe it's pride. I know a lot of shorter girls. Most are gorgeous as heck. Most don't give 2 spits about their height, but a few go off like a bomb when you just look their way. Even if someone is looking at them in attraction, all heck breaks loose. I guess it's just defensive pride in a way. Maybe a bad past, or even a past where nobody liked them or completely ignored them. Most shorter women are gorgeous I think. But, don't let it get to you when they go off. Just sit down with them and be friends. Tell them the fact that they aren't as tall as some folks don't mean they aren't just as good. Let them know that their size don't make them any less of a human being. Unless you are really talking about a mexican dog in litteral terms. But, I doubt it. Just dis-reguard that last thing, a dog can't yell at you in defense, they bite your nose off and nip at your pants and bite your head off of your shoulders. Lol Bad joke.

I LOVE short women, I feel very big and strong when I'm with them, even if they are the ones that tell me what to do.

Well, im tall (only a couple inches shorter than my boyfriend) and thats the only thing that bugs him about me - he thinks im too tall. (i'm 5'9)... I think shorter people get defensive about their height because they wish they could be tall like us. Who knows?

Couldn't tell ya that, but I am 5"1 and love it, you know what they say, you know what some guys say, know what's better than a long- legged girl wrapping her legs around you? Is a short-legged woman trying. And my boyfriend loves every inch of me.
