Because you wouldn't want someone wiping you out simply because you are presumably weaker or inferior. Soul or no soul, God or no God, it doesn't matter. That's just how you treat people. Period.

I beleive that God is within each and every one of us and what we actually call "soul", but cannot really define what it is or what it does, is actually the God we are wondering about. God is not a Supreme Being that watches over us and make things happen or created Heaven and Earth ....Each and every one of us is God by having been given a "soul" which is the ability and intelligence to see right or wrong, bad or good as opposed to animals and other living creatures who don't have this gift. They act by instinct.
Therefore, religions are just a big scam invented by people that were hungry for money and mostly power and is perpetuated by brainwashing people to believe they need to put money in the collection box every week to save their soul, which is absolutely ludicrous and ridiculous. All they acheive by doing this is making the car payment for their favorite preacher !!!!! Nothing to do with God !
So, to answer your question, this is why you are actually asking yourself why not just start killing instead of going right ahead and doing it. Your "soul", your intelligence, the "God" in you is telling you that this is NOT the way to go, it is not up to YOU to clean the planet of all the weaks and unfits...on the contrary, we all have a mission, and it is to do GOOD not HARM to anybody...We are all brothers, weak or not...and although you seem to consider yourself strong, somebody else might think YOU are the weak one and decide to get rid of you....now, that would not fly with you, would it ?
Speaking of the weaks, I have a brother that has been severely handicapped at birth. For some people, he is considered weak and useless, but I have learned a lot from him, he has been an inspiration for me all those years, he has accomplished a lot despite all odds and I don't feel he should be killed because he is weak and not up to the standards we, as a society reaching for perfection, have created....

Yea, that's right, murders and suicides never happen...'cos we have souls. Oh yea, and police who will put you in prison, maybe you'll get executed. If you like killing that much, why don't you just get a job at an abattoir? Killing people with no conscience is what sociopaths do. Are you trying to say that if we simply believe that we have no soul, we become sociopaths just like that. The percentage of religious to atheist at large is the same as in jail.... so not believing you have a soul apparently has nothing to do with it.
Let's kill all the weaker people.... that's called anarchy. Are you really that simple minded that you believe this scenario of everybody becoming sociopathic anarchists just because they realise that there is no such thing as a soul??????? Keep the questions coming because I have a feeling that you are going to have to be told over and over and over. Good luck with that common-sense problem, sincerely.

Technically, there are two phases here. If there's no god and no soul, then one is free from any supernatural consequences of one's actions. That does not invalidate the moral codes that human beings invent to regulate their own society and promote mutual advancement of each other. We build societal structures to ensure a standard of living, a standard of interaction that, at its most tribal level, allows us to be relatively sure of the ordered progression of the species.

If we free ourselves from the idea of there being supernatural consequences to our actions, societal and legal constraints remain. This works on both a personal and a governmental level - when one nation launches an unprovoked attack on another it is generally viewed by the world community as an agressor and shunned.

If we free ourself from caring about individual and social strictures, for example the idea that if you kill someone, you go to jail, then yes, technically there's nothing to stop us killing anyone, any nation, just because we feel like. However, we categorise such actions as psychotic, very much because they ignore the social imperative of working together.

So essentially, if there's no god, we still have to get past ourselves, and other people, in order to "wipe out the weak". Many do of course, be they killers or soldiers or politicians or whatever. But generally, the amount of people we have to ignore in order to get that kind of freedom from consequence makes it much easier not to bother killing anyone at all.

If this is the idea U choose to subscribe to then that may be your path.......unfortunately we live in a world of duality and many things ballance eacthother out ......for every action there is a opposing reaction.....in this carnal example U speak of a consequence. I don't think I need to explain what that is.........Once U are through understanding the differences in things .....the PARADOX of knowledge? U will learn that your JUDGEMENTS will not change reality...It may change your understanding BUT ...the only thing that can change YOUR reality is YOU and the only way to do this is to align your THOUGHTS to what U want in your reality.....If U don't believe me keep a running score of everythought U have in your head throughout 1 day... simply give each thought a charge +or- and I guarantee you will begin to understand the life U are leading

The weaker are the little children, the innocent and as small, who as adults we must protect. Wipe out all the younger generation so we have no one to take our place? Kill innocents? I would rather lay down my own life.

What is weak? The disabled, the elderly, people who are different from us? This has been done in Nazi Germany! And our Grandparents and great-grand parents layed down there lives to give us freedom and safety!

Women would suffer the most! In our society we are protected from rape and from people damaging our children! You are discribing Hell on earth! I would rather stick to having a soul!

Bad bad bad idea!

I find it very odd that this is a frequently asked question. If anything, I think it proves just how weak your moral compass can be if you are raised thinking that God defines morals and God will damn you to hell in eternity if you don't toe the line.

I don't believe in any kind of afterlife, but the thought of murdering another person is abhorrent to me. I can think of all sorts of rational reasons why I feel this way, having to do with how social animals evolve. Protecting your kin has survival value. Even altruistic behavior is beneficial when you understand that the goal is to preserve your genes in the gene pool. But this is all moot. I don't need to have a rationale for why I feel very strongly that murder is abhorrent. The fact that I don't believe in souls or the afterlife has nothing to do with that feeling.

Is your moral compass so weak that only fear of God makes you behave morally?

Hypothetically with no gods and no souls, humans would still have our innate instinct, the instinct to protect our young the instinct to run from harm the instinct to stay alive. We would also still have our conciousness - this leads to thought, logic. Logic + instinct = morality. the morality not to kill (because we wouldnt want to be killed ourselves) the morality to protect the weak (because if we were weak we'd want to be protected). humans are still humans whether they believe in a god or a soul. some are good, some are bad and we have to get on with it.

cos there are people more powerful than u preventing u....so u cnt kill the weaker, cos theyre protected by the non weaker...some of these people are religious, some arent, but generally there all just tryin to stay outta prison.
also u cnt say there is no gd, cos all those people hu rnt goin around killing people, probably believe u shudnt and tht belief is led by the CONSCIENCE which only we have and tht is dictated by gd, whether u believe in it or not is neither here nor there, its a simple truth

There is something inside us that makes us naturally have some social order, whether it be a shared conscious, or hard wired by genetics for survival. It is not in our base nature to kill each other.

Now it seems higher society has actually taken away that reservation in some. We are desensitized to killing and brutality. It has become trivial.
