I visit my local animal control often. I like to spend a few minutes with the "death row" dogs. They are so desperate for attention....

I was there on my birthday last year, and found a silver mini poodle in one of the cages. He was all curled up in the back and wouldn't come to the bars. In the overwhelming noise and smell, he had given up. I looked at his ticket - he had one day left and I knew I couldn't leave him to die.

I never really was a "poodle person", but he has changed my mind! Moses is about 5 years old, and from day one, was perfectly behaved. He was house trained, healthy and has the best manners. I adore him, and on his behalf - and that of all the other 16 million pets we put down in shelters last year, I always encourage people to check animal controls and rescues, first.

Please do a search for local poodle rescues and check your animal shelters.

Try the website of the Poodle Club of America for listings of breeder referrals and poodle rescue. Check also the listing and links for affiliate clubs as many have their own rescue and breeder listings

Try looking at petfinder.com, or search Miniature Poodle Breeders in... What ever state you're in ;) Also try looking in a local shelter...

puppyfind.com is a good site.
Something to warn you about is mini poodles. I have one she is 14 y/o. She is the best dog around. She is blind though. When they started miniturizing poodles they had some defects and blindness is one of them. Also her Trakia (wind pipe) collapses causing her to hack alot. And we think she's starting to loose her hearing.

Got to any of these sites. Most of them let you search for dogs by your city name and zip code to find ones close to you:

petfinder.com
pets911.com
1-800-save-a-pet.com
nextdaypets.com
