When the distinctive presence of cognac is accompanied by the subtle hints of citrus fruits, honey, herbs and spices in Benedictine Liqueur, the flavor is a delicate marriage of the best of both worlds.
B&B is a drier product than benidictine alone and less sweet. When you drink it, you feel it smooth and next comes a certain warm vivacity.
B&B is consider a liquor, a prefer it after dinner.
But you also could make cocktails, check: http://www.benedictine.fr/anglais/cocktails_frame.html:

FYI:
Benedictine is the oldest and perhaps most famous liqueur in the world, Benedictine dates from 1510. Its formula, which calls for twenty seven different herbs, plants, and peels, is a secret that has never been successfully been duplicated.
B&B was created in the 1930 in the famous Club Twenty One in New York. The barman dreamt up a blend of Benedictine and Brandy.
