This is a tough one. But I can tell you from personal expeience that it is a very hard thing to do, especially if the person is a good friend. I know it hurts, and i also know just how you are feeling. I let a comment nearly drive me out of my church and my church choir. I sat home and I thought and thought about the remark, for four months. Finally, I told myself it just wasn't working - why should I let someone's stupid comment keep me from going to a church that I love and a choir that I really enjoy. After all, she is the one that made the remark, not me. Sheis the one with the problem, not me. So, just try your best to forget it. People often make remarks to or about other's, but the fault lies with them and not with you. Life is to short, so pick yourself up and get going. Believe me, it will be just fine. Laugh it off, and forgive this person. You will come out on top. God luck.

It depends on what it was. Was it about you? About someone you love? Was it true? Said out of spite? Said just to hurt you? Did you hear it with your own ears? All of these are important in determining how to deal with it. Is this someone close to you? If so, confront them if you know for sure they said it. Ask them why. Let them know it hurt you but don't confront them alone. If it's just somebody you know casually, then feel sorry for that person, not yourself. Usually, people only say bad things about others to make themselves feel better. They only feel good about themselves by knocking someone else down.

Well if i hear something that some one else has said that bothers me i give it its moment then I decide what ever, they are aloud to say what ever they feel they need to but I don,t have to allow it to get to me. I know I,m alright with myself and thats a good thing.

It would depend on what was said. If it was true, I would try to correct it. If it was not true, I would ignore it.

Most people only say things to bother you and if you show them that it doesn't, they stop doing it.
