From one pumpkin to another!!!!!!!

A woman was asked by a coworker, "What is it like to be a Christian?"

The coworker replied, "It is like being a pumpkin." God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.

He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see."

This was passed on to me by another pumpkin. Now it's your turn to pass it to other pumpkins.

I liked this enough to send it to all the pumpkins in my patch.

Your analogy is pretty close. I used to be a Christian, but in order to continue to be a Christian, I would have needed to have my head opened up and my brains scooped out. I let the seed of doubt grow into my brain, and what a wonderful seed it is. It gave me the ability to think critically, and gave me the awesome power of skepticism. I have been so much happier since. With it, there is no hate or greed; just understanding.

The problem is we dont rot afterwards and get thrown or smashed after Halloween.

And technically if God does that we are no longer pumpkins but Jack-O-lanterns!

Wow, I don't like that at all. So what you're saying is that God picks you up, opens you up, takes out your inner substance, leaves you as a hollow shell of what you were, carves a smile on you with no regard to how you actually feel, and puts you on display as something to aspire to? I get where you were going with it, but you need a better analogy.

And no.

I have repented, been baptized in Jesus' Name, and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. I guess that qualifies.
