i never had a dad who taught me stuff like change the oil or how to fix a clogged toilet etc.

i wish i had one, and also so he could shoot me a couple of bucks now and then while i'm in school.

shlt, some kids have it so easy but i always had it hard.

i'm not whining about it, but hell, this does cross my mind.

Can you be adopted at 23? Yes. My husband was adopted at 29 by his best friend (50 year old man he met in the American Legion). But it's not like you're going to be shopping around for dads. If you find someone as my husband did who was in the right situation at the right time, it could happen. It does suck not having someone like a dad to rely on. But you'll be a stronger person because of it.

Good luck.

No you are not too old to be adopted. However, at your age you can adopt some role models of your own and begin building your own legacy so that when you have a son and daughter you can pass on the lessons to them so that they'll repeat the good, and not the bad and ugly of your parents. So, just slide under your car with an oil pan in your left hand, and a wrench in your right; unscrew the oil lock, and let her rip. Clogged toilets are for plumbers! Best of everything dude!

yeah legally you're too old to be adopted. you're a grownup. no one is going to adopt a 23 year old just just to show them how to fix a toilet and loan money too. i 14 and i dont have a dad either- left my family long ago.but i dont sit around crying about it. im more mature then you and im like 9 years younger! you learn that stuff from someone else. life is hard, just get used to it. so dont have it as easy as others. thats just the way it is. deal with it...everyone else has to too.

No you couldn't be adpoted. I'm 22 and I have lost all my family. I don't have anyone so if you have any family at all be thankful that you have someone at least. I lost both my parents when I was 18 and I lost my whole family before that so just think about that. One of your friends can teach you the things that you were never taught

its hard growing up without a dad, but looking to be adopted is pretty much out of the question. Having a positive role model however can be like having a dad, just be careful what you do!

hey kid life is like that some people had a wonderful life some do not. so i tell you get a perfect women in your life and get married if she has a dad then you can spent your time with her and her dad together. when you have your own children give the love and responsibility of a dad to your children. since you can't have it let your children have it. then when your children grew up they will remember you. i know life is sucks what can you do this is life.

my father died when i was 13 and then my mom abandoned me at the same time. you can not depend on anyone. that is the best advise i can tell you. except that and you can move on with your life. seams like you are doing fine now just work hard so you don't make the same mistakes your dad made.
