Nothing here will make anyone rethink their position. This is a Q&A forum that has turned into a political forum where questions are asked only so they can be answered a certain way. It's a US against THEM thing now.

It doesnt make me rethink my position ever, nor does it make me think the other side is completely wrong, but it does at times help me to understand them and why everybody thinks the way they do. Plus its interesting to read some of the outlandish remarks and replies that people grace us with!!

Hi there;
Reading posts has nothing to do with breaking the laws of the land.
While I do realize that America is a nation of immigrants, most of the time those immigrants came to this country legally. What is going on with our neighbors to the south is just plain out and out wrong!
Running our borders equates to illegal entry of my home only on a grander scale.
Please remember that our municipalities can only handle so much of a set population of people. Having a group of people that will not pay taxes to that community heavily burdens those who do pay taxes. Illegal immigrants usually will not own property and avoid paying legitimate taxes back for the services provided. Police depts, fire depts, ambulance corps, city maintenance (sewer, water, trash disposal etc.) all run from the local,state, and federal tax funds. Illegals do NOT contribute to that fund pool.
This is a simple issue in that illegals break the law. They shirt responsibility to America and place an undue burden on Americans citizens. This is wrong. I say go home then come back here legally.

Sadly Tegeras is right. The reason its degenerated to such status(Mostly) is because surprisingly, even younger people are quite fixed in the US vs Them mentality without anyone reasoning in an independent manner. People have made up their minds about what is right and what is wrong without having first weighed up the sides or the argument, which is sad to see. But any historian who is investigating the Nazi effect would find rich pickings here on Qs and As.

It hasn't change my view. Laws need to be obeyed. I will not break the law for someone. Or support them breaking the law in anyway.
But I have listen to "some" Pro Amnesty on certain points--when it wasn't untruthful talk. And understand the point they made to a better degree. And I did learn a bit. If you can weed out the lies- useful information can be found. But it is rare.
Secure the boarders, No to Amnesty for All, need stricter but fairer immigrations laws.

Yes, it makes me re-think SOME issues. Not the illegal immigration issue.
Anything that is illegal is just that. There is nothing that can be said to change that. Most try to appeal to your humanity, because they cannot justify their stance. That makes me think, but it doesn't make illegal not illegal, so it doesn't change my mind.

No, because pro-illegals are condoning illegal activity and showing that they have no respect for the United States..

NOPE....ILLEGAL will always be illegal,
Anti-American will always be Anti-American,
Hard to change ones opinion when ones opinion is based on truth justice and the American way............

sure it does ... if someone actually has somthing intelligent to say ... theres nothing worse than an uninformed racist spouting and spitting when they have no clue what the other issues surrounding immigration are .
