What usually prevents you from acting on such nudges?

Two weeks ago my cousin who I hadn't spoke to in 8 years was on my mind, good memories. I planned on making peace with him and was too afraid, and never did. Good memories filled my head these past two weeks more then ever in the past 8 years.
On Tuesday he passed away. God was nudging me to pray, but my spirit wasn't quite enough to hear. God was nudging me to make peace, but I didn't put my trust in God, knowing he'll be there with me. Let your spirit be still to hear His soft voice, be obedient and put your trust in God. This was a heavy lesson I learned this week.
