Well, at the moment i am 15 and I am very clean. I shower twice daily, use good antiperspirants, where clean clothing. Yet i obviously sense people get odors from me. In school, students will stay very far away from me, and hold there nose whenever i am not looking, This makes me very sad, I am causing such discomfort and I am veery insecure. I stay away from people now, because of this smell. It is not my clothes, but a possible problem from the inside. 30 minutes after a nice shower, people will smell my BO. On the train home after school, it is very bad, i see peoples faces turning red, holding there noses, sometimes leaving the train. This is emotionally destroying. Since i do not talk to my parents, there is knowone to take me to see a doctor. If anyone has any ways, of possibly getting rid of these horrible life dewstroying problem, please aid me. Besides recommendations of better deoderants. I feel it is from below my skin, has anyone else faced this?an Please help :(

Dietary imbalances, resulting in constipation or a deficiency of magnesium or zinc may be other causes of body odor. Because of a person's body chemistry, some people who eat large quantities of meat or who are vegetarians have a very distinctive body odor which can be quite offensive. Some individuals cannot metabolize foods containing large amounts of choline, such as eggs, fish, liver and legumes. The result is a "fishy" smell. If you are one of these people, cut out these products and see if this is the cause of your odor. Certain foods and drinks, such as onions, garlic, curry, certain spicy foods, coffee and alcohol, are also prime causes. Fried and baked goods may contain rancid fats and oils that lead to body odor.

Disease: if your body smell changes it can be a sign of disease. Diabetics, especially those who use insulin to control their levels of sugar, can smell of acetone (nail-varnish remover). Such individuals require urgent medical attention. People with liver disorders may smell of ammonia and people with yeast infections can smell of beer. Digestive problems can make us smell, but it usually is not a sweat problem and has more to do with gas.

Drugs: body odor can be caused by the excessive sweating that is a side effect of medication. Some anti-psychotic medications, morphine, high doses of the hormone thyroxin and overdoses of analgesics such as aspirin, acetaminophen (Tylenol, etc) are all known to cause body odor.

Heredity: there are some people inherit a tendency to sweat more than others. Excessive sweating is known as hyperhidrosis.

Certain racial groups smell less than others. Different races have a slightly higher distribution of apocrine glands than others.

perspiration by itself is basically odorless, but it is the bacteria and odors coming from other sources that are the real culprits. Anaerobic bacteria, which flourish when your body doesn't have enough oxygen, may well be the cause of your body odor. As the body's metabolism goes to work, it gives off odors which is the body's way of ridding itself of waste products. Any imbalances in metabolism will result in stronger odors.

Try a splash of rubbing alcohol.

Okay, maybe I cna help you! Some of us are sweat more, just like some of us have more hair. It's just part of who we are.

Since you're not comfortable talking to your parents, I'd suggest trying a few of these things first. If you find that you're still uncomfortable, you'll need to talk to someone - even if its not your parents (try a guidance counselor or a favorite teacher at school, if you find you're too embarassed to speak to them in person, write them a note!)

First off, what are you showering with? You need to use a nice shampoo, a conditioner, and a body wash. I don't know about your budget or preference, but typically most of the shampoos in the drug store (cvs, eckerd, duane reed, walgreens, etc) are okay for guys. Try using Pantene - it doesn't smell "fruity".

For body wash, I like old spice's high performance. They have lots of scents and all linger a little but NOT TOO MUCH to make it pleasant when someones close. They also make a deodorant/antipersperant. You MUST make sure you are using a deodorant that is both an antipersperant AND a deodorant. The antipersperant will prevent sweating, while the deodorant will deodorize.

If you're more into bar soap, try Irish Spring, or Zest. Again, lots of scents to choose from, but you'll be okay.

Incase you haven't heard of it, here is something called AXE. They make deorants, body washes, as well as deodorant sprays. These are MUCH stronger than your typical stuff, so use the spray sparingly if you decide to. I know they just came out with a body wash (called snake skin? or something similar to that), that exfoliates as well. Seems to be a good buy. Make sure to try and find complementing scents with each, since you will have to smell them all at once!

Another precauction, make sure you drink atleast 8 glasses of water each day. You need to make sure that you are doing this - it will effect you're ENTIRE body. Your skin, smell, nails, metabolsim - everything.

Always brush your teeth, and use Listerine (the cool mint one is my favorite!) and I think you'll have no problem.. :)

I hope that helped. If all else fails, make sure you talk to someone, anyone, just to be safe. Goodluck, hun! God Bless

Have you seen a doctor about this problem? You probably should.

In the meantime, start taking zinc supplements. I had two classmates in school with the same problem as you. Some years later I read that the odor in some people comes from a lack of zinc in the body. If it doesn't help, it can't hurt. Good luck.

It's just an infection. Go see your gyno and he will prescribe you MetroGel probably. You use an applicator to put it in before bed and lie down immediately so it doesn't come out. It'll definitely help with your lil problem. Don't feel alone either, more girls get this than you think!!

you should probably consult a doctor. And more importantly you NEED to talk to your parents. Maybe they know what to do, and besides they're your parents, what harm can it do..? If its bothering you and others that much i would definitely recommend a seeing doctor. There are millions of meds you can go on or maybe its something more simple than medication. good luck

I wouldn't ever plug my nose at a person - how rude! But still - talk to those parents of yours about it. They aren't as intimidating as they seem. What a bummer! Hope you become less stinky, if that's what it is! :(

Ask your mother to buy you some chlorella. You can check the website at www.mercola.com. It will give you answers to your medical questions and give you more information about the chlorella supplement.

You NEED to talk to your parents no matter how you feel about them. It sounds as though it is a Kidney problem to me. And there's nothing you can do about that yourself.
