Ok. First off, they are not going to do prostatic massage. They are going to swap inside the urethra, meaning a small swab will be placed in the urethra and rotated once 360 degrees. They will be checking for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea at the same time using a "genprobe". They are also going to take a UA (urine sample). It's not that bad. And like someone else said, it can be 100% curable with antibiotics. Don't have any sex until you get it checked out. Also, tell your partner you have symptoms. Go see a health professional ASAP! Serious complications could arise from not getting treated...

Basically, if you have any problem with your penis you should consult a doctor if it persists. And if your doctor does not look at your penis and examine it he is not goign to be able to give you a proper diagnoisis and treatment for whatever your peoblem is.

In addition, you shoudl also have regular medical exams from yoru doctor and should absolutely insist the doctor do a thorough check of your genitals. A lot fo doctors are afraid to go to the full extent in doign the exams but by not examing genitals they can miss finding a disease early enough to be treated easily.

So, guys, find a doctor you feel comfortable being naked with and go get those regualr physicals. And then when you have a problem with yoru equipment you will be better able to strip off and have it checked since your doctor already knows everything about your naked body.

And for those in doubt about having their doctor checking their genitals regularly, keep in mind that cancer kills. A friend of mine died of lymph cancer in the groin at 37 because no doctor ever looked or touched him down there. Is it not worth a little embarassment to keep from dying so young.

One of the symptoms of Chlamydia is "unusal discharge from Penis and swollen testicles".

Please read the excerpt from Medical reference -
In men, chlamydia may not cause any symptoms, but symptoms that may occur include: a painful or burning sensation when urinating, an unusual discharge from the penis, swollen or tender testicles, or fever.

Doctors will see if these symptoms are present and also ask you go get samples of urine and blood. It is O.k.

Chlamydia in men can spread to the testicles, causing epididymitis, which can cause sterility. Chlamydia causes more than 250,000 cases of epididymitis in the USA each year.

Chlamydia may also cause Reiter's Syndrome, a form of arthritis, especially in young men. About 15,000 men get Reiter's Syndrome from chlamydia each year in the USA, and about 5,000 are permanently affected by it.

Odds are yes. If you got chlamydia you showed it to someone. The doctor has seen more genitalia than you have and it's not going to be this surprise for him/her. Just suck it up and go. In the long run it will be worth it to you.

If you think you have a sex dicease then you will most likely show your penis to the doctor. But I am sure that he has seen penises before and I don't think you should worry about showing it to him. Doctors do not see their patients as sexual objects, you are just one out of many patients, and that is why you shouldn't have to feel embarresed about it. He is there to help you.

Yes, how else will he be able to take a culture to diagnose your problem? If you're not embarrassed enough to have sex and show it to your lover, then you shouldn't be embarrassed to show it to the doctor.

P.S. No matter what, you should always use a condom to prevent and stop the spread of STDs.

yes because your doctor needs to take a sample of your penile discharge. hes gonna do a procedure called a prostatic massage to be able to get a good sample of your discharge. your doctor needs to do this since sexually transmitted diseases are usually mixed infections. meaning chlamydia might not just be the only culprit. you can also have gonorrhea.

gps' receptions are pretty good about allowing you to see a female doctor if that's any consolation?

but actually stripping infront of the doc isn't a problem, you've just got to keep in mind that your average nhs doc or gp probably deals with around 2 to 3000 patients a year, they see lots of naked bodies & after a while the novelty must run out abit. your doctor even if he's male probably won't be thinking "ooh i wanna sh@g this one" they're pretty well trained 2 deal with almost anything you have to throw @ them

Yes you do. But don't worry too much because chlamydia is completely curable and won't leave any long term negative effects on your body.

The biggest thing is to get into the doctor right away so that if you do need medication or treatment, you get it right away!!!
