Wow guys, thanks, these are great answers.. I guess i've just never considered it before... I ran out of regular white refined sugar, and was left with only brown sugar... these are wonderful suggestions... the adding cinnamon to the grinds was great too. thanks!!!

That's not silly at all. Brown sugar is fine in coffee, as far as flavor. It just takes longer to dissolve.

Try putting cinnamon in your grounds before you brew. Or an extract. That will give you a very nice flavor.

No, on the contrary brown sugar is much better than refined (white ) sugar...it has a lot less of chemicals in it..and it is better at the taste. There is also now a brown sugar organic, that beats all...hope I helped...good luck

A lot of cafes serve raw cane sugar (sometimes labeled as "Sugar in the Raw"), which is less refined than brown sugar. So, I think it would be fine.

Go ahead and try it -- whatever tastes good to you isn't silly -- it's good for you!

Long time ago I was outta sugar, so I used brown sugar. Then I was outta brown sugar, so I used honey, then I was outta honey, so I used maple syrup. Honey is the best! Don't have to use cream or milk, as it not only sweetens but does the "buffering" job that milk or cream does. Been using honey for years, gave up the milk...highly recommended.

Baby, don't you know that sugar is like anything else? Once you go black you can't go back.
