I got home from work tonight and was heading to the shower. I decided to quick check my email. The guy I was meeting for the first time tonight IM'D me to cancel. HELLO!!! I gave him all my numbers....A phone call at work would've been a bit more considerate.. He said "Sorry, I have to change plans tonight because my kids are staying home this weekend" (as opposed to going to their mom's house.) No big deal, I can understand that, but what if I didn't check my computer before I left? For the record, we're both in our mid-40's!!

Lets give him the benefit of making a poor judgment call. He needs to be there for his kids and you are good to understand that. He has a legitimate reason to cancel. He did try and get a hold of you, but not in the best way. He may have not even taken the time to think you wouldn't check your email before leaving home. Just explain this to him next time. He may have been a little upset about the kids staying with him and not been thinking straight.

i think that guys are just afraid to show their tru colors. i may not understand the whole issue, because im only 16 but sorry. i know how it is, as i have done that b 4 but only i didnt check my voice mail. i waited there for 4 hours. i thought he would come. i had even waited in the pouring rain. i learned probably the most important lesson of my life: if he doesnt come in under an hour, hes not worth it. it may sound childish, but if you really think about it, its absolutely true, or atleast 80% of the time ill bet. but sorry about that whole deal. hope it all works out allright in the end:)

I understand what you are saying...he was inconsiderate. But, there are a ton of guys out there who are considerate. I'm in my 50s, divorced and dating. Each date is so special, because I might just find that one great woman. If you aren't happy with this guy, dump him...move on...you have to find someone who totally makes you happy, and he won't qualify for the job...and you know it.

It sounds more like he was too shy to give you a call. He's a divorcee; give him credit for even being able to jump back into the dating pool. Let him know you'd rather he'd have called you instead. Don't bite his head off just yet.

yes, that is bad. are you sure you have made the right choice. but you know guys sometimes when they have to do something that they dont want they rather hide than face their fears, but it is up to you to decide, maybe he just didnt have the time.

just tell him that he was lucky this time. but if he woulda stood you up, tell him that would have been the end of the line. ask him to call you with that kind of news from now on.

I think it has something to do with teaching them not to cry at an early age...?
