2nd Timothy 3:16 I think says that All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting matters straight.
Just to limit oneself to the new testament eliminates a whole lot of God's word.
Yes I read them both in as many different translations as I can.

Old and new- the idea that the OT is for the Jews is a deception from the pit of hell. It is all valid and the NT is basically a commentary on the OT as you can find Jesus all through the OT. You must read it all to get the whole picture of the character and nature of God.
The NT Christians did not even have the NT at the time they were preaching, all references to " the scriptures" in the NT are direct references to the OT! If it was good enough for the early church why is it not good enough for us?!?!

I read both. By reading the Old Testament, you see the history and understand why mankind needs salvation. Also, you see "types" of Christ in many of the Old Testament Books.
The New Testament shows the fulfillment of the Law of God in Christ and the hope of His coming again.

I read both. The Old Testament tells you of events when they were yet to come, and the New Testament tells you about what is now. The OT gives you a pattern and helps you see the nature and Power of God, and the NT tells you more of who Christ is in you and what we are able to do with that understanding. Both Old and New are necessary to grow in understanding. God didn't give one to neglect the other, but rather to show the fulfillment of the other. The OT tells of Christ's coming, and the NT tells of Christ as He is Come.

I read both because they tie into each other, The Old Testament conceals what the New Testament Reveals, in other words they go hand in hand, and the Old Testament tells of the New Covenant that God himself would establish. However we are no longer "under the law" but rather under grace. Galatians 3:10 -13 "All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law." Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, "The righteous will live by faith The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, "The man who does these things will live by them." Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree." However that is not a pass to go around disobeying either because it is also written 1 John 3:9 "No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God."

Most people will only devote 10 - 15 min reading the bible looking for a prophesy. Sadly the moral learning has been removed out of peoples minds

I appreciate both Testaments. The OT for history and poetry and symbolism, the NT for history and encouragement.

Only in the new. The difference between the old and the new is Jesus. As a Christian he is our lord and savior. This seperates the old testament from the new and seperates the Jews from the Christians.
