Check out a Disney film that was done in the 60's "a day on ______ pond", I'm sorry I don't remember the pond name but it is a very good film on the life of beavers. Perhaps someone will read this answer and fill in the blanks. Or go to the Disney site and get a list of their wild life films done for " The Wonderful World of Color".

How much detail do you want? The live underwater in homes which they build. They create ponds and water-land by building dams and re-routing water systems. They have many predators though not as many as several decades ago...man's influence. Their habitat is shrinking. Check the websites given by others for more information.
