Ok i just moved here to america from england and dont understained something. Please dont get upset and be sarcastic. But why are so many people against the war in iraq.

I mean things could definitly be going better over there but to say the war is unjust, i dont get. People say we should go and fight in afgainistain wear the real war on terror is. But in iraq we are going after more terrorists than in afgainistain.

And why are we giving our military more rules of war giving the enamy more rights, while the enemy uses no rules of war killing and brutaly tourtering then executing the captured.

I mean i dont believe in an eye for an eye we have to be better than that, but if some one kicks you in the balls, you fight back.

An i get we went there for another reason, but now that were are fighting terror shouldnt we be more willing to fight.

Now please explain this to me, maybe im completly wrong and im new to this issue.

I could not agree with you more!!!! I am the proud wife of a military man who is currently stationed in Iraq, and I am sick and tired of the people griping and complaining about this war!!!!!!!! People are not completely informed about the war, even though they think they are since they watch the news. The news only tells of the bad stuff going on overseas. Has anybody heard anything good on the news about the war in Iraq? No, because then nobody would be able to cause a controversy over the war and gripe about our president. If you people don't know about the good (only the bad) going on in Iraq, then how can you make an informed decision about this war??? I personally support this war, president Bush, and every single one of the soldiers over there fighting this war. If the soldiers pulled out of Iraq and came home, how long do you people think it would take for the insurgents to make their way over here and start killing people??

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL THE SOLDIERS WHO ARE SACRIFICING THEIR LIVES TO KEEP THE IRAQI CIVILIANS AND YOU IGNORANT PEOPLE WHO DON'T SUPPORT THEM SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!

Certainly, the rules for engagement have changed. We are not aggressively fighting a war. It seems that our mission is to go out and patrol, patrol what I'm not sure, yet we are still losing troops to snipers, IED's, and roadside bombs and at too frequent a pace.

It seems to me, since we're not engaged in something really hot, we should make it a priority to safeguard our troops. Like, keep them out of vehicle, or do more patrolling with drones and aircraft, cut off the insurgents supply of weapons and bombs.

If they can't secure the borders than do more searching of vehicles going into the hotspots. Use dogs if necessary.

The best way I can explain the anti war feelings in this country today, is the sleazy left wing liberals who will say and do anything including, siding with the enemy to win their point. They attract the youth of this country, especially those who don't want to go to war, to support their diatribe. Most of our youth are liberal, it goes with the age, but as they get older they see the err of their ways.

You are right, the reasons for this war in Iraq have made a 190o turn. It's become a Sunni/Shiite conflict with the US in the middle. Actually, it's an insurgents war, with an objective of keeping the pot stirred and the Americans busy but not accomplising a whole lot. It's as though they are deliberately keeping the US troops bogged down. They don't want us to leave, because then we would have troops available for other things.

Hopefully this gives you some better insight on what's going on, over there and here too, that is from my perspective. . I jumped around a bit, but that's consistant to how things change on a day to day basis.

It is mostly politics. It is about a confused and ignorant public. People are seeing death and destruction on the news. The see graphic and horrifying scenes. The American public does not have a stomach for war. Americans want things nice and clean and pretty. Americans also have a short attention span. We forget too quickly why we are in Iraq. Some politicians will lie telling you that it is over oil. The fact is that Iraq was a threat to our allies as well as America. The Iraqi leader was also a threat to the people of his own nation.
Now that the first steps are done and more of our, American, people are dieing Americans have lost the goal seeing only the blood of husbands, wives, sons and daughters. We cannot leave Iraq without a good government. What replaces the previous government might be much worse than the first without sound guidance and intervention. We see a glimpse of what is possible. We must do all we can to fight against terror at home and abroad. We cannot give up and let who knows what happen to the people we have tried to serve.

A lot of people do not believe that our troops(and England's also) are over there for the right reasons.
1. It is a known fact that as soon as troops arrived in Iraq they were ordered to dig trenches to the main oil supply in Iraq.CHING CHING !!
2. That Husang did and does not have or had access to MWD.
3. We should have gone to Afgainistain from the get go.Oh thats right...Bin Laden was having lunch with President Bush around the time of 9/11.
4. As for an" eye for an eye" would make us all blind (now wouldn't it)?
5. There are rules and guidelines even in war.

I totally agree with you, but the majority of the people on this site are so far to the left that they are practically laying down. Keep coming back and asking or answering questions, and you'll see just how crazy your comments can make some people.

People are against the war in Iraq because the reason we went over there. We supposedly went over there because they had "weapons of mass destruction." Haha yeah right good job Mr.Bush. No weapons of mass destruction found, I don't think anyone was suprised though. Consider this, innocent people are dying every single day for meaningless reasons. However, we can no longer back out of what we have created. So, here we go onto our way to hell. Don't get me wrong, I understand that they can't pull the troops out now because we have dug ourselves to deep..but if we never would have went in the first place we wouldn't have to worry about this.
