If your dog is up to date on his shots, it is very unlikely that it is parvo. People, please do not panic unnecessarily.
You dont say how long this has been going on, but first of all, dogs get tummy sickness just like people do. When our dogs urp, we pull up food for 24 hours, regardless of how hungry they are. We also give a dose of Pepto-Bismol (use an oral syringe & give 15ml, you can get both at Walgreens).
In many cases, it was just an upset tummy, either from too much play, a cold, eating grass, getting into the garbage, whatever.
When to worry - your dog is acting 'funky', appears to be in discomfort, is panting, drooling, refusing to drink water (not that you can force this), is drinking excessively, has a temperature over 102.5 (take rectally with a digital thermometer), has a bloated abdomen, vomitting is accompanied by diarrhea, there is blood or foreign objects in the vomit, vomiting continues.
Since you say your dog 'is vomitting', & not that he just urped once or twice, you may want to call your vet to make sure there isnt anything else to worry about.
If your vet is not available after hours, & you do not have an emergency center, I am giving you the number of the center here in Milwaukee, at the very least they should be able to help reassure you over the phone or give you further instructions.
Best of luck, & I hope your pooch is doing well soon.

The only way you are going to know what is wrong with your dog is to take him to the vet, and since you don't know what is wrong you shouldn't wait. There are a number of things that can cause your dog to vomit and not eat, i.e. ingestion of a toxin, intestinal blockage ( is he pooping?), a bad UTI will also cause those symptoms in a dog, intestinal parasites, early stage disease such as parvo (does he have diarrhea?) and the list goes on and on. It may be something mild or it may be something serious, but you don't want to wait and take the chance. Only a vet is going to be able to diagnose your dog and treat him properly. Hopefully nothing serious and all will be well. Good luck!!!

It could be that your pet is getting sick but I had a dog that was similar to that. My dogg didn't eat a lot of food and sometimes would throw up. She was still extremely active and wasn't sick or anything but just because she didn't eat a lot she sometimes barfed. Our solution, was that in the morning we would feed her half a peice of soft bread so she would at least have some food in her stomach if she didn't eat. I would recommend feeding your dog a little bit of something he likes in the morning and maybe checking with your vet to see what is a healthy solution for your dog. I hope you find an answer!

Uhm...I dun understand your question. He vomitted but still active, still eat his food or not eat his food. First if he still eat his food and the vomitting has stop then dun worry, it probably just something not going well with his stomach. Wait another 24 hour to see if there is any change. I dun have to tell you that if he not eats his food then it must be much worse. He can be diarheaa, worms, ect.. You should contact the Vet and take him there ASAP. You should check watch he eating as well. If you planing of taking him to the Vet then stop feeding him until then.

Try frying some hamburger and mix it with cooked white rice. This he should eat and make him feel better. Don't let him dehydrate. What is causing him to vomit in the first place. If he continues to vomit after eating this mixture I would consult my vet. Good luck

If he's vomitting and won't eat, you need to get him to a vet. Take along a stool sample (some poop) so the vet can check that for worms and intestinal parasites.

parvo causes diarheaa and he would definitely not be himself. he wouldn't even move. your dog may have eaten some grass or something but if its not a lot of vomit it should stop soon otherwise go to the vet

your dog is not himself if he is vomiting and not eating....he need fluids fast...otherwise he will get acidotic go in heart dysfunction and die.
could you at least call a vet.? if it was only a single incident...then he could be OK..just an upset tummy. beware, don't let this continue if it looks like a long hawl...shorten it by seeing your vet...good luck to you and Poochie.
