Christians or members of any other cults decide to reject all other gods except theirs. Atheists only reject one more.
Perhaps that will give you a better understanding of atheism (by the way, I am Deist, not atheist).
When you realize how easily you have rejected every other god as a myth, you'll understand how easy it is for them to reject yours.

you can close-up and disagree, if this is too intelligent for you, and the salient details escape you. for many, that will be the case. cheers!

also, for those of you who feel the unintelligent, inane need to threaten me with your predictable bible-threat: "you're going to burn in hell for your choice" -- please, take a pass and save it for someone else. every time i hear it, i realize even more how false your cult really is, to have to rely on threats of eternal suffering to keep people in line. sad sad sad...

Your 110% correct. Religious groups find it hard to believe that a person can believe in nothing, and yet they themselvesd have dismissed all Gods but their own. You are right on.

It's very interesting how you condescend to people with faith.
Your generalisations show your narrow minded view and you try to hide beneath a facade of fake intellect when it is apparent your statement disguised as a question is not intended to provoke intelligent debate, but designed to insult those you resent.
I'm curios to know what your trauma is. Why is it that you make continual mindless arguments in a subject in which you obviously have no desire to hear another view?
I suggest a better place for you would be a soap box outside the mall on Saturday afternoon. You can cry all you want there and tell the world your woes from the elevation you so desperately seek.
Still, no one will give a damn there either.

Not really an original observation, since many early Christians were called "atheists" by the Romans because they refused to believe in the pantheon of the Roman gods.

That's a good take on the issue even though I disagree with it. The huge difference is that believers have to take their faith seriously while us non-believers can simply sit back and throw inane jokes at them on the internet.

Give me a break. This argument is going to be so stupid when you're standing before the Father. Everyone has a choice, and you have chosen. You will also be held accountable for everyone that you persuade to believe this way, anyone that you lead away from God you will be personally responsible for before God-this is truth.

Ah yes, that good ol' concept.
"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
-- Stephen Roberts
Absolutely simple and true. Surprisingly difficult for some to grasp the concept though, huh?
P.S. Thanks so much for the snarky response to my question.

Interesting...
If there really is only one God, though, it leaves a pretty large gap between the two.

Agreed. I like the idea of deism, it makes far more sense than Christianity and Islam.
