My teeth have always looked straight so i thought they were fine. I went to dentist last week and they said i have a cross bite and if i wanted perfection should get braces. Mum and i decided no because my teeth look perfect from the front and didnt cause any pain etc.
NOW.... for the last 2 days my bottom front teeth have been really hurting and feel like they are being pushed back. This discomfort is al the time and wont go away. I have always had a gap in my two front teeth and now it looks like im getting one in my two bottom teeth! its all happening so quick.
Does this mean braces are going to be the only things that will fix this or could this be something else to do with gums. I am so worried. PLease help.

I believe you should get them. One of my friends recently got them, and she needed them because of her underbite, even though her teeth are straight (like yours!).Your smile will look better in the future if you get them, even though you think your straight teeth are such a big deal rite now... crossbites may affect your mouth later.

You are probably imagining the pain or your dentist probed you.
What are the chances that your teeth get sore or "start to move" just after you've been told you need braces? Perhaps the gap on the bottom was there before and you never noticed until he pointed it out.
I don't know how serious a cross bite thing is, you should ask your dentist what kind of problems it will cause. You don't NEED perfection so don't let anybody tell you that, especially when you are going to be paying them a lot for it.
Teeth do move throughout your life though so you might find that you will need them in future. Don't worry, don't worry at all. Just get back in contact with the dentist or look up info online about cross bites and what harm they do. Then make an informed descision, instead of taking someone's word for it.
edit: I didn't imply that you were stupid..
If your teeth are really moving, and as fast as you claim, you are obviously going to need to get a retainer to hold them in place or if they've moved too far already get braces...

Just get braces! Some kids think they are cool. If your teeth hurts, you really should get them. Friends say they don't hurt. I'm getting some too. I have over crowding and need teeth extracted too, but you just getting braces is good.

-honey you`te young, take care of them now,or you will be so sorry,i had a lot of problems, you need to find out if left untreated if it`s gonna interfer with the way you eat, if it does you likely to get tmj-i really advice you to go to another dentist or orthodontist-look in the mirror sideways,is your lower jaw receding or protruding? just alittle? when you eat can you chew both back sets at the same time? the reason i`m asking this is because a crossbite & straight teeth are 2 different things. i had to have both sides of my jaw broke. my teeth didn`t meet at the same time in back.i was in a lot of pain for along time-they can correct this now. it`s a LOT cheaper to get it done now. than to have to have you jaw broken at 30-like i did.

Do what the doc said...even if they look fine now, many times they can tell over time they will change. So you better do it now instead of later.....
The doc could tell my lil sis was going to need braces before she even lost her baby teeth.....
