Eat soluble fiber. This includes potatoes (baked, broiled, mashed - not fried - and little butter or sour cream), white breads like rolls and toast and bagels (again, little dairy), applesauce, beans, white rice (some seasoning is OK, but not a lot). I am following the IBS diet for my gas and bloating, and I have to take Gas-X only in a blue moon. By cutting back on dairy (you could be lactose intolerant), you soothe the stomach. By using soluble fiber to begin and end meals, you are giving the stomach something incredibly bulky yet not upsetting (ie, bland) on which to concentrate, with some of the other foods you like in between. As long as you try to eat small meals, and 2 soluble fiber snacks, the gas should dissipate. By reducing gas causing foods in the interim (carbonated beverages, sorbitol in the sugar-free gums, and others, you will do you stomach a world of good.
Good luck!

Hi, it's not what you eat to sooth your stomach, but what NOT to eat, to upset your stomach, and/or digestive track. Foods to stay away from, are: Brocolli, Coliflour (sp?), Beans, etc. (More can be found on the web... I'd suggest doing a search. Beverages, such as soft drinks, Coffee, all milk products, (lactose is a complex sugar that is already difficult for the body to digest; add a digestive disorder, and it's worse). The amount of foods & beverages you'd need to steer clear of may differ, and the time may also differ (it may or may not be a life-time sentence). Alcohols are also bad... it depends upon what caused the irritation in the first place.

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://tinyurl.im/aHLtb
The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

I have acid reflux and my doctor prescribed Pariet (Paree-et). Almost instantly stops acid which should help you with your gas. It is prescription though so you will have to get a script from yr doctor. I haven't had much luck with the over-the-counter drugs you mention so anything is worth a try eh? Good luck.

If you have gastritis often, it may be related to your life style. You probably smoke, eat or drink either too much or carelessly. Once you have found a likely cause, try to avoid further attacks. If you still have symptoms you should consult your physician.
Eat nothing during the first full day of an attack. Instead, take frequent small amounts of non-alcoholic liquids, prefereably milk or water. After 24 hours, begin to eat, but eat only foods that you know "agree" with you, and eat only a little at a time. If your abdominal pain is troublesome, take antacids but avoid asprin.
