Yes! I was very skeptical about the benefits of Yoga for a long time. But, my boyfriend and I added regular Ashtanga (power) Yoga classes to our exercise routine and WOW. I can really tell a difference. This month marks the 6th month that we've been doing this yoga (2 - 4 times/week). My overall strength has really improved. I am much more flexible and my joints do not ache as much as they used to (I was an avid runner). Plus, I am starting to see muscular definition in my shoulders and upper arms, and my thighs -- a nice bonus that I wasn't even working toward. My boyfriend feels stronger and more agile when he surfs. I am looking forward to this ski season -- I think that my old tired joints may have some remarkable skier days ahead.
I am really an unlikely fan of yoga -- but I'm hooked! I've bought my travel mats and I'm ready to take yoga with me everywhere I go. Yoga is great!

All exercise "works". In yoga its how much you're willing to mentally focus. The more focused and meditative you are, the better it can work. Some people have trouble focusing and think yoga is a complete waste of time but if concentration and mental discipline are as enjoyable to you as stretching your quads, then you can make it work.
Yoga doesn't "work"...you do.

As far as I know yoga only works if you think it will. It's a mind and body working together thing so if you believe then it works for you and if you don't then it doesn't.

i have practiced yoga off and on for years. it is one of the best forms of excercise, it builds strength and stamina and flexibility. it can also be cardiovascular if you do hatha yoga at a faster pace. it's also good for meditative purposes, reduces stress, and helps with internal issues such as blood pressure and has positive effects on all systems of the body.
i recommend it for anybody.

Totally!
It's really hard, and it will make you sweat! Especially if you do the type where they warm up the room in advance!
Seriously, It's too hard for me. I don't have the muscle strength or coordination to do it. I tried a couple of times, but it won!

Yeah it does, but you have to continue doing it or you will feel sore and stuff. I stopped for the summer, and I felt terrible, it's like taking vitamins and then stopping.
