I can't find an artical about it on UFC.com or anything does anyone have any info? And it was supposed to be in Nov. but the Matt Hughes v St. Pierre is in Nov.

I heard that Silva asked for more money and Chuck found out and then he asked for more money.
I also heard Pride and UFC couldn't agree on legal stuff.

If this is true do you think they stopped the fight as a business saving technique if they start letting Pride fighters come in and they beat up the UFC guys then UFC would loose fans to Pride and not make as much money, because let's face it Pride fighters for the most part are better than UFC fighters(as much as I hate to admit it) What do ya know? tell me!!!

Think about it, PRIDE is having serious finacial issues in Japan and they are under investigation for having mob ties. So two months before thier first ever show in the US they get one thier best fighters to appear on UFC event and then back out of it. They were just using the UFC to try and open up the american market.

Yeah, it got cancelled for those exact reasons. Seriously, at light heavy weight Chuck can stand with the best of them. UFC clearly has the better talent at 205. Heavy Weight and Light Weight is where Pride just would make UFC look like crap. Silvia would get get destroyed in Pride

Franklin and Hughes are awesome, but that is the limit of UFC depth.

True, sort of. The fight was called off and it was due to money, but not the purse for that particular fight. If Silva won, Dana wanted to buy out the Silva's contract with Pride. That's where the money dispute emerged from, the respective presidents of the MMA companies.

It's true, the fight is canceled. UFC president Dana White said he and PRIDE couldn't come to terms and that for the time being he doesn't want Wanderlei Silva to fight Liddell coming off a devastating loss to Mirko Cro Cop.

PRIDE says they will let Wanderlei Silva fight Liddell any time.

Either way, it's canceled

I plan to exhibit screen both, notwithstanding the Silva/Liddell wrestle is the single i'm truly amped for. Boxing has slowly been replaced by technique of MMA on my "to exhibit screen" priority record. there is in basic terms now nobody to truly get enthusiastic about in boxing anymore.

Actually Silva want them to tape Chuck's thumb to his hand. However being a drunk hillbilly, Chuck know he need his deadly thumb to win so he refused the special rule. End of the story.
