I would definitely not be afraid of standing up to him.... Hon, it's 2006... All that "let a man be a man" our parents (females) were trying to instill in us is out the window and caught the bus. If he was a real man, he would be trying to be loving and cater to you just like he wants from you. And to add the sugar to the cool-aid, men need to realize that they are losing us females as companions because of that controlling bull crap. Then have the nerve to turn around and say were nagging..... Think about it!

I have been in this situation, even married a man like this. It was a HUGE mistake. Men who control like to have power over the woman. This will only escalate. It can become abusive, if it isn't already. You are fortunate that he is a boyfriend. You should end this relationship like yesterday. Respect yourself and realize there is only one you in the entire world. You deserve only the best.

I've had a few controlling as.s hole boyfriends, key word: HAD. Compromising is one thing, but controlling is one thing I won't do. Wave bye bye.

Tell him where to go basically or that he sorted his controlling behaviour out or risked losing you. Tell him he needs a lap dog, not a female form of perfection to try and control!!!!!!! Show him whose boss by taking back that control and showing him the door!!

Please please Leave him....I am 34 years old and was in a very bad very abusive relationship for 8 years. He started out just being "controlling" He was jealous of all my friends. But he always said it was because he "loved" me...Then he began to push me then he hit me then he would hit me with what ever he had in his hands. His belt, a wrench, a screwdriver. Once he almost killed me by choking me in front of my daughter. It does not get better. I was scared to leave him so i stayed. It took me a lot of courage and a very good friend for me to leave. NO ONE deserves to be treated badly...

Tell your family about it. Leave him far behind and stay away from him for good. Rely on the people who love you. They will help you.
