No, although both are given for hives. Atarax is amazing and works great for me. Prednisone is a steroid and I detest all that changing of meds amounts to dose you off.

Edited 10/14 - Sorry, I thought you said "comparable" not "compatible". Yes, they are compatible. They are not comparable, since they are 2 different types of medications.

Yes, there are no interactions between them and they act differently. Atarax targets an allergic reaction, whereas Prednisone or Prednisolone (a steroid) targets inflammation. It's common to use them together to achieve better results.

Atarax (capital A) is compatible with prednisone (note spelling) in that there are no drug-drug interactions to contraindicate using them concurrently and they actually complement eachother.
