I'm not aware of things anyomore, I watch MTV 24/7, I'm obsessed with my math teacher, I have different opinions now, I don't care about things anymore including my school grades, etc. Why I am I changing so fast? I want to go back to my "mommy's little girl" self. How can I stop maturing so fast? I don't know what to do, please help!

How do I talk to my school counselor about this? I'm a super shy person.

You are perfectly normal. Every kid goes through this.

A parent who is on top of things will anticipate this and will make sure you have constructive adult type activities so that when puberty begins these feelings you have (which are normal) are re-directed into positive avenues.

You just need something adult in your life and if MTV is the only thing offered, you watch it and turn into a veg. This is the point where lots of kids "go wrong" and it's not their fault. They have a need their parents and schools have not recognized or met.

Try a find some adult responsibility OUTSIDE of your own home. A job? Volunteering?

Tell every adult you know that you are looking for some exposure to the world. You never know what may come up.

Step back, take a deep breath, and turn off MTV. Clear your head and decide what is really important right now and focus on that. I'm assuming you are a teenager. This is a tough time (one I would not want to go back to), but you can handle it. If you've always been on the college track, I would be careful how much you let your grades drop. That could change a lot of things down the line that you might regret.

We have an eye gate, and an ear gate, and even a sensory gate. What we allow in those gates has a major bearing on our attitudes in life. Our attitudes give birth to our actions. If you want to change your actions, then you must change your attitude. What comes in through those gates creates your attitudes. So the trick is to only allow stuff that is good for you to enter those gates. What you watch and hear can make the difference in a clean room, homework done, chores done or a pig sty, flunking school, indolence. Even where you are you can now make the right choice. So make it. Decide to get rid of every influence that pushes you down a wrong path. Decide to get back, and then do it. If you decide to continue down that ruinous path, I assure you that there are predators out there that you will attract. You have victim written all over you. Straighten up!

I have NEVER heard such an efficient, accurate self-diagnosis with the teen twist of little girl self thrown in before...is this legit??? because as far as I can remember, all *I* cared about was getting my drivers license, and going with boys, mtv, and my girlfriends clothes matching mine, or trying to make sure I had feminine protection to not mess my clothes up and be *SOOO* embarressed in front of ANY guy.... so, sorry but I am doubting this question since all my neices and I myself NEVER wanted to go back to the early stages after we hit about 12. Before that, MAYbe... AFTER that, HELL no!

Ok.....I presume you are a teenager - a very emotional, confusing time. Has this been going on for a while? it could be just a hormonal phase, I went through a few phases like this when I was your age and it does pass, do you have any friends you can talk to. Go see your doctor in case you may be depressed, nip it in the bud now.

Let me tell you, little girl: You are entering the life of a mature person called puberty.

That'll be over soon, in about 3 years or so. Not too much if you compare it with the years in your life which still to come.

All of us sometimes want to be mommy's little girl even when we're all grown up. The phase you're in will pass. Just ride with it.

Never, ever hate anything. Hate leads to conflict, and conflict leads to war. Start small. Make friends. Make it a point to make a difference. You can't stop growing up, but you can make it easier by having people close to you on your side.
