I am not a bad mother,if I was a bad mother then I wouldn't be worried and for those of you who suggest giving him up for adoption you are out of your mind and for the person who said they hope my son dies, well all I can say is rude, very rude and I hope you don't have kids.Thankyou for those who gave real answers and for the rest of you who insulted me then GET A LIFE!!!!!!!!!

The normal value for blood sugar level is from 60 mg/dL to 120 mg/dL or 4.2 mmol/L to 6.4 mmol/L. Blood sugar level would usually rise after food intake but under normal circumstances, it would return to normal after 2 hours. To establish baseline values, one should check a fasting blood glucose level -- meaning NPO or non per orem or literally nothing per mouth for about 6 to 8 hours before blood sampling and testing. For close monitoring how one reacts to medications and treatment, ante cibum or before meals and postprandial or after meals blood sugar levels should be checked. To determine if an established diagnosis of diabetes is under good control or uncontrolled, a hemoglobin A1c test is done which can be done nonfasting because it detects glycosylated hemoglobin fragments (we can say that is the sugar-coated portion of blood that is not easily washed off, so if treatment is inappropriate even for months, it can still be detected in blood).

I hope this helps you even in a little way...

When I worked at a daycare center there was a little boy who was diabetic and his levels could only be between 180 and 220.

your dr. should have given you guidelines for the #'s
i'm type 2 , and anything between 70 and 125 are good for me.
you should test before meals and again 2 hrs after meals
keep track of times, and what he ate also, take list to the dr. next time

I'm so sorry for you. I don't know about levels but I want you to know I am very sorry to hear about this. I hope there is a cure someday soon. It must be so hard on you. God bless you and your family and keep them as healthy as possible.
