Check out MOMS club International. You can find contact information for your area by visiting their website. It's a club for mostly SAHM's (most activities are during the day), and it will immediately put you in contact with other mom who live close to you and have kids about the same age. There are age-specific playgroups, park days, field trips, and moms night outs, as well as lots of other fun stuff. I joined immediately after moving to a new town with my three kids and right away met lots of people just like me, who had friends for my kids! I can't recommend it highly enough.

Go places that there will be other 2 year olds. Child play areas, library, community centers - take the step and talk to other parents. Also, there's a website playgroupsusa.com they connect people to playgroups - you can create one if there isn't one that fits your needs yet.

Daycare or pre-school are the obvious answers but if money is a problem try doing a search for a local play group. My daughter loves her play group and I think it has really helped her socially(me too for that matter..lol) Good luck

Day-care or pre-school. Do you have friends with any kids around his age? Offer to baby-sit, or a group trip to the park...

At 2 years old, your child has no concept of what a friend is. Right now, your his best friend. Quit worrying about him having friends, that comes when he starts school.

Play groups. Check around with other parents you may now to see if there are play dates around there.. if not start one of your own. put an add on your towns website. "Play dates for toddlers" also, if you have friends or family members with children around that age, invite them over so your child can play with them, and get to know them and make friends

I agree with the others...

day care... maybe even only for an hour every few days of the week... during that hour you can rest up and have a little free time.
