For hardwood or laminate floors use 1/2 cup of distilled white vineagar to one gallon of water. Wring excess water from a towel and use the towel as a mop and do not rinse.
Extra hint:
Once the floor dries, I would apply a coat of lemon oil furniture polish to give it a shine without refinishing.

Try using a brake fluid cleaner or degreaser from an auto shop. We used a product like that to take Sharpie marker off our wood floor. We also tried something used to clean up vandelism and that worked on our wood table, but I don't know where you'd get it, try Zep products at Home Depot. When we pulled up the carpets at my gma's house, she had a lot of stains, but we didn't want to put a lot of $ into the clean-up so just used a lot of Murphy's Wood Soap. I've also had some success with the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers on wood products. Warning: the wood floors we used the degreaser and vandelism stuff on were sealed with the newer polyurethanes. The floors we cleaned w/ Murphy's were sealed with the old-fashioned wax. I wouldn't use a degreaser on an old wax.

you can use a very damp cloth with vinegar water but you need to be careful not having the cloth overly wet.. or use a floor cleaner made especially for spot cleaning.
