I quess what I'm trying to say is, what ideal (or what do you think it is) are people talking about when they say the term "What is an American?"?

some people who are arrogant, suffer a superiority complex, have little compassion for less fortunate ones, feel a sense of entitlement from being born in the United States...won't bore you with a long list of who some Americans are.
Thank God, we do have some great people here in our country.

Americans are all colors all races all ethic and all herbage's.Americans are all of us that were born, became and love this country.
Telis ..this United States of America was not called America by the Indians, before the dreaded /bad white man made it that. so your posts is wrong.

It depends, by American law I am a American because I was born in America, by Iranian law I am a Iranian because my father was Iranian. I am a dual citizen. So I guess it depends by whose rules you going by. American rules says a kid whose both parents are mexican maybe in America for the first day cant even speak english and is born in America is American.

I am an American. Many of my ancestors were here long before Europeans and others "discovered" this continent. I have quite a few friends who are also Americans. They were born in other countries, then came here and became naturalized citizens.

I admit that I am the imposter, Will you ever forgive me for all the nasty things I said and did?
I always wanted to be a princess, but mommy whipped me with a coathangerfor wearing her underthings on my head, it warped me. The doctor says I will get better if I take my medicine. I dont like enemas if they are cold. Warm ones feel nice. I love dogs, literally. My hermophroditic gay lover, EL INDIO is an illegal, I cant help that I am so twisted and sick, its just the way I am. My pet monkey is a naughty girl, she always sneeks into our playroom and makes a mess. We named her NANCY, aint that a beautiful name?
