I have never had a flu shot and I am 34.
I think your best bet is to always wash your hands but a good wash . I like to say the alphabet while I am scrubbing my hands. ( 30 seconds is reccommended)

I'm 30 and have gotten the flu shot the past 2 years. I get it because the flu can complicate my asthma.
I recommend getting it yourself and getting your children the shot as well.
A lot of people say they got the flu from it. Well that is impossible because it is not a live virus. It's just a matter of coincidence because flu shot season is also a bad cold season. With the temperatures changing up and down all month, lots of people are getting sick, it's not the flu shot, just the time of year.

I'm 22. (male) I got the flu shot last year and the years before that and it did me no good. I still got sick with the flu. I was sick for 3 weeks with it then I got it a second time. so this year I'm not going to bother with it.. It doesn't help at all. If I was you I would not get the flu shot. If you have never had one before then you are fine..You should be fine but that is just my way of thinking.

I heard on TV that babies above 6 mo. were to get the flu shot. It is also very important for older people and for those whose immune system is compromised. As a single parent, if you were dropped with a severe case of the flu and then your children got sick, who would take care of all of you???

Do NOT get vaccinated.
A vaccinated person is MORE likely to get a disease than a non-vaccinated person. The whole theory of vaccination is flawed. It causes a weakening of the immune system thus making those who are innoculated more susceptible to disease.
There are so many awful side effects to vaccination that it should be considered extremely dangerous.
Just sit back and think for a while.
Is there any sense in injecting a disease directly into the bloodstream.
We have been subjected to an awful mind control program to enable the drug manufacturers to make a fortune.
