Yes I did know that, probably even less than the amount that claim they are if you include the countries where it's a capital crime to not be one.

As a matter of fact I did. Arabs are people from the Middle East, but their heritage doesn't necessarily define their religious denomination. Just like being, say European, doesn't mean that you're Christian.
