For the reason that Some people say that they are Christians but they never show it! They talk without action! Thats when you know who are the real true followers when you see a difference in them than anyone else!

If six people read a book of rules and regulations, you would have 6 different stories as to what each meant.
But that is not the whole story. The whole story is about having power over people and it is that simple.
Example: no where in the Bible does it say that a person must be born again, in this life, to be saved. Course, don't tell a born-again Christian that.
And yes, why not just follow the Bible? Because people can not make a simple story out of a simple story. It has to be complicated and made into something only they seem to understand. They dwell on small parts here and there and come up with meanings that aren't even there.
And also it makes a reason to start a different church, read that as, a most righteous church. I also believe that much info was added to the Bible that did not need to be there by some people that wanted their opinions listed in that book. And as you say some add their own doctrines which again makes their "new" church, "new and improved", and better and they can then have their own church, although Christian, just a little more Christian then the other guy. Examples are: Oral Roberts, Jimmy Swaggert, Robert Schuller, and many of the "mainline" churches. All believe in Jesus Christ, and God, all believe in the ten commandments, etc. But each has that one thing that they know better then the others.
And, of course, people can and do make arguments out of anything and everything. And then, of course their are the people that wish the church to change. You know, the "pro-choice" Catholics. No such thing but they wish to impose their will onto the church. And, "homosexual Catholics", and again the same thing.

The Bible is a book, a Holy Book, but a book, nonetheless. And just like different students may interpret their Reading Assignment differently. So people interpret religion differently. So, many create their religions that uphold their interpretation. So, they are all technically following the Bible in their own way. It's just that they disagree as to what the Bible really tells them to do.

If they are not following the bible but following another book. Then they are not following Jesus. The bible is the only book that is the inspired word of God.

We are all human , therefore we are subject to mistakes and
confusion ,,,to follow JESUS ,,is a difficult road ,,,life is not easy,,
and sometimes we forget to follow the road that JESUS asks of
us ,,we try hard ,,we all want to be good and decent people ,,but we are human and Jesus understands the human heart for most times we really know in our heart that we have been mean or unkind ,,\
or whatever ,,,the way of the new testament is not that hard to follow just be good to those around you and never-mind what other people do ,,,,,we are all going in the same direction and
in the end of all things Jesus will gather all of us to himself ,,,
no matter what relligion we are,,,Mother Theresa was a catholic nun ,,,but when someone died who was not catholic ,,perhaps
an eastern religion ,,,she buried them in the tradition of their own
religion ,,,,whether muslim or buddhist or whatever ,,,,you see
all religions believe in goodness as their first teaching and even
when one has no religion ,,they can be better than practising
christians or other sects of religion ,,,who say they follow t he
bible ,,,just try your best and be tolerant of other peoples faith
and their faults ,,just try your best to follow Jesus ,,,if you are a
christian ,,,,,

Alot of people who follow "Jesus" are Hippocrates. Think about gay people, would Jesus ever put down someone for loving someone else in a true monogamous relationship? For all those people who say YES, guess again, look how Jesus treated Mary Magdalene.

First of all, are you following the Bible the way it says to do? If yes, then you can expect others to do the same; if not, ask another question.

Because humans make mistakes.....this is the best answer you will get. Understand, if three people see a bird fly by the window, three people will perceive three different things. Same with interpretations of words. God's words and intentions are not wrong, it's the translation that becomes faulty.

It's just human nature. I think were all here together just trying to live life in our own way. Everyone has a right to believe what they want, as long as it is good intentions and we try to live life "right" then God and the good Lord know where our hearts are. And by the way, ALL of us humans are flawed, yes even the Christians. And again it is HUMAN nature.

The problem with people in the West is that they want religion to change to accomodate their every whim and craze instead of striving to live up to the precepts as ordained in the Holy Books.
