I have a tendency to believe most people have double-standards at some point in their lives. In this case - they might think it's okay to profane something sacred to someone else, but not okay for someone to do it to them. Because I have a spiritual belief system that is a minority - I'm used to having what I hold sacred being profaned by others. It is infuriating, but you get used to it. Sometimes you just can't take what others say or do to heart, and you have to realize and accept that not everyone agrees with you. It also helps if you can laugh at yourself and not be overly serious all the time.

At first it feels bad, but I try to forgive when others profane what i hold sacred. I myself try to not profane what others hold sacred, if sometimes i am not attentive and laugh at the other ones sacred holdings I would apologize.
bless you again :)

each now and then, it quite is in simple terms human beings being stupid. In different cases, it quite is human beings reacting to what they sense is an extremely stressful tendency of a few religious human beings to evangelise their ideals as though they have been the reality. i don't think of absolutely everyone has a concern with somebody saying "i believe X". yet whilst human beings say "X is genuine and God consents with me", or something to that result, then those anybody is definitely profaning what's sacred to those who do not share their ideals. not amazing that human beings do not opt for to be recommended that they are rotten, no stable, and going to hell in simple terms because of the fact they disagree with some believer's ideals. are not getting me incorrect. i'm not accusing you of doing the above. i'm in simple terms answering your question approximately why some human beings react so strongly, to the ingredient of profaning others ideals.

My beliefs are very personal too me and if someone knowingly desecrates what I feel sacred it is enough to make me not want to communicate with them for a while about my beliefs.
Everyone does have their opinion and is entitled to it. So, I can not find any further reason to escalate such a situation. I have grown very tolerant of people who trample on my beliefs, but I know what works for me.
Peace...

It doesn't bother me. Why should I expect anyone to follow my rules? If you go around telling folks that Jesus was a fraud, many will not like you. If you say that Buddha was a jerk, many will not like you. If you tell folks that the Torah should be burned, many will not like you. If you say that the Koran is full of lies, many will line up to kill you. So I suppose that not all religions are equal. I hold life to be sacred. I pay attention to what people do. What they say and what they like and believe and respect is their business. Too bad I'm in the minority. Peace.

mostly I feel annoyed, but if it is a brother or sister or one who thinks he is family but really falls short and it is done in front of others I feel really embarrased for them, and for my savior who seems to me would not be favorable towards the truth being challenged in a negative way. When athiests do it I just figure they are being rebellious and that God sort of laughs at them cuz He knows all their wrestling will be of no avail.
I try to be respectful and patient but sometimes when a person acts haughty I expose their deepest secret and that might be an abuse of a gift, but sometimes when they understand that others can see it opens them to the truth so I am ambivalent about if it is a good or bad thing to do. Perhaps I just feel bad for them.

it really hurts when someone else profanes something sacred to you, because that thing is sacred BECAUSE it is important to you personally. for example, when people bash my religion, it makes me angry and hurt because the other people are not being understanding to what's important to me. it's because of this that i try to not profane what others hold sacred.

If it is scripture, then I do not particularly care what anyone else feels about it. If they are offended because I say what the bible says about something, then they need to take it up with God, not me. It is His book.

If you truly believe in yourself, then it doesn't matter what others say against you. Likewise if you are secure in what you believe, you are open to consider other views and beliefs.
