It's a perennial debate on nights out with my friends (male and female). If as a single lady on a night out you spot a man you like, then discover he's wearing a wedding ring, does it make you think, "ah well, never mind, missed out on him, I'll look elsewhere", or does it make you think "married? Now there's a challenge *wink*", or more something else?

Please note I am a well behaved married man, but it's just something we've often wondered, and it's impossible to get an honest answer from the women I know!

Can I just remind you all, this is a hypothetical situation? I'm not saying I go out desparate to attract women and start a string of affairs! It's just that I've known a lot of women say they think it's a challenge or a turn-on for whatever reason, and a lot of women who say they wouldn't go there. I'm just gathering opinion. I wouldn't go there and I certainly don't take off my wedding ring when I'm out!

major turn off...especially when they flirt back...its ok to go out and have fun, dance have a drink...but thats as far as it should go....there should be no pursuing anything more, it will only hurt innocent people.

In my opinion married men would be off limits! I think people like the idea of a challenge but when you put yourself in a situation where you are dealing with a married person you have the potential of ruining a person's family. Just my thought...

I would look at the cute guy and then the ring and think dam..that sucks he is a cutie. I would never persue it but he does end up being more desirable. We always want more what we can't have. But I would never go for it and any girl who goes into it knowing the guy is married is a selfish ***** or really screwed up and you should stay clear.

I respect the 'sanctity' of marriage, so I don't feel turned on or off by a married man. I look at him as a person who can be a platonic friend and who knows? We may end up dating as 'couples', you know going out together with our spouses and all being really good friends.

Well personally I will look the other way. A women who sees a male wearing a wedding ring and still goes for him is a home wrecker!!!!!!

Well, if you're responsible, I'm guessing you probably wouldn't flirt with other people!!! It's a challenge, yes, but it's not like you're gonna go to a strip club or call up a hooker every night!

I would avoid a married man, certainly wouldn't try to pull one anyway but if I met a guy at work and fell for him and he felt the same then I'd be tempted to be a little naughty!!!

personally if i was single and spotted a fella who i liked the look of, i would NOT attempt to "pull him"
i mean i wouldn't like it if a woman tried pulling my hubby.
i do have to laugh when men take off their wedding rings though, you can clearly see the mark of the ring on his finger
