Or... "absence makes the heart grow even fonder"?

In which, do you believe in?

I ask previously if a girl's feeling can change suddenly... and yes they can...
But how about love? how about when a girl falls in love with someone?
Will it be "out of sight, out of mind"? or "absence makes the heart grow even fonder?

I feel the answer can perhaps be summed up in the following quote:

Absence is to love as wind is to fire; It extinguishes the small and kindles the great. -- Roger de Bussy-Rabutin

(There is another quote very similar to this with the same meaning but this was the one I was able to find)

If the love isn't as strong or as deep (or if there is none to begin with), I believe the expression 'out of sight, out of mind' can apply in the sense of a person being forgotten, feelings lessening or simply realizing that without that person, there is no real difference. But in love that is true, I don't believe distance or absence will ultimately change this or cause it to lessen.
It doesn't mean that in times of seperation, other preoccupations or activities can't find themselves at the forefront sometimes but when it comes down to it, that love is no less, and is more, important. In love, absence only reminds you of a person's value in your life.

I have always wondered about that question. All I can tell you is that my friend is out of town now. I can honestly tell you that the "out of sight, out of mind" thing is BS. Because I do love him and he is on my mind even more than if he was in town. I also think that absence makes the heart grow fonder in some cases. In my case, if I dont have any contact with my friend the time he is gone, my heart gets pissed off and I am ready to dump his #ss. But if we have some kind of contact.. then yes I cant wait to see him when he gets back.

If you really love someone I feel that absence makes the heart grow founder, but if there is too much time in between there may be a problem. People need someone in there life to share time with.
