I had a nasal septal reconstruction several years ago and quite honestly was the best thing I ever did. No more headaches, sleep much better, the whole deal. I requested (and received) a general anesthesia so no pain during surg, just took a few pain killers that day and the next, very little discomfort. It was outpatient (in a surgery center), went home about two hours later.

I had that surgery around 7 years ago.To me it was a waste of time.Of course I have the same problems you do.Allergies.The actual surgery wasn't bad,but it didn't work either. In fact the surgeon referred me back to the allergy doctor because he couldn't cure me of infections.I have read about the new sinuoplasty .I would give it some consideration.(just to try ) I feel your pain.Seems like I always have a sinus infection! A trip to the doctor at least every 45-60 days.I wish you luck.

As far as sinus surgery its not that bad. They will put u to sleep so u wont feel anything. After waking up ur nose fills really stopped up because they stuff it with either gel or gauze to help the healing other than thats it wasnt that bad. I had my sinus surgery when I was 15.

I have no idea. My spouse is having surgery next Tuesday on his sinus turbanates. To reduce the surface area and hopefully it will cut down on allergies & sinus infections. His surgery will all be done with lasers. It's not supposed to hurt too much according to the Dr. but we don't know anyone who has had this surgery to ask.
I have know adults that have had nasal polyps and tonsills removed and they both say it hurt for a while. But they said they breathed better after the surgery too.
Good luck to you with your surgery.
