Not so long ago, the name of the job described it's function. Agent, advocate,accountant, project manager, surveyor, analysis, planner, project co-ordinator etc. You knew what people actually did and what they were. Stealthily the PC seudo-science psychobabble "professions" began to use them. The Media, social science, political quangos and other third rate "hard core of nothing" professions. Name a few you know and call a spade a spade.

I like the way that everyone is a manager these days, it's an excellent stroke on the part of employers, getting their staff to do more work for less money and a fancy title that everyone else knows is just 'shite'. Poor little Muppet's.

At school I had a friend who used to work as an exterior domestic sanitation engineer during his summer holidays. He was a window cleaner.

My nephew told me his new job is a "Food Service Specialist at a Fotrune 500 Company", ie; burger flipper at MickeyD's.

I used to work processing people's applications for bank accounts. One chap put his occupation down as a "fresh produce replenishment operative". On phoning his employers (Tesco), I discovered he was a shelf stacker...

I went to a car wash today and the reciept was printed with the name of my "wash service advisor": the cashier. (Granted, she did tell me about the different washes that were available...)
